⭐ Another fantastic week in Reception! ⭐ This week, we enjoyed sharing and celebrating our families, learning that every family is different and special. The children loved talking about the people who are important to them and creating pictures of their families. In maths, we have been exploring the numbers 1, 2 and 3, matching numerals to quantities and beginning to develop our subitising skills by recognising small amounts without counting. We have also been so impressed with the children's growing confidence and independence. They continue to make new friends, show kindness to one another and settle brilliantly into Reception. Well done, Reception! 🌟💛 - Mr Cook, Miss Allen and the rest of the Reception team!

🌟ACTIVES🌟 A big well done to this week's Actives! It was wonderful to hear about the wonderful interactions between peers and successes within the classroom too. Great work everyone ✨ We also introduced our brand new certificates which celebrate pupil's efforts on NumBots (Year 1) and TTRS over the week. We will celebrate this every week as we know what a huge impact quick arithmetic can have on our pupil's learning and understanding as they move through their educational journey and into the real world of work. Please continue to support this at home too - if you have any questions please speak to class teachers in the first instance. Active Lifestyle and Leader ✨☁️ A big well done to this Elder pupil for trying something out of his comfort zone. He completed an indoor skydive for the first time, gaining resilience and learning new skills - what an awesome experience!

🌹Rose's week at a glance! In Literacy we did a fantastic job retelling the story of The Little Red Hen and we have started reading The Gingerbread Man. In Maths, we have been finding one more and one less using tens frames. In Science, we sorted objects thinking about their material. In Art, we made our own surfaces and practiced mark making on them. Its been another super week, go Rose! Rose team 🌹

🌟SPEEDWELL🌟 Another fabulous week in Speedwell! In Maths we have been finding 1 more than and 1 less than, in Literacy we re-told the traditional tale of the Little Red Hen and in Science we sorted materials by their properties. We had a brilliant time in PE exploring and working as a team with the parachute and showed great skill and creativity in Computing recreating the works of Mondrian! Honeysuckle have had a jam packed week! In PE we enjoyed working together to use the parachute. We were very proud of the dome we made with it. In Literacy, we loved acting out the story of the Little Red Hen and then starting our new story The Gingerbread man. We continued using Paintz in computing and created pictures inspired by Mondrian. Another excellent week in Willow class! ⭐The children have worked so hard! In Literacy, we started our new writing unit using ‘The Mysteries of Harris Burdick’ and the children have been enjoying exploring the different images and discussing what could have led up to it. In PE, we continued our team building skills focusing on communication and completing various team challenges and in Handball we focused on dribbling whilst using our three passes we remembered from last week. In Art, we have continued our work inspired by Hundertwasser; we used acetate and fine line markers to create a layered effect. We also enjoyed a lovely treat of squash and biscuits this morning, this was due to winning the attendance award last week!🤩 Have a good weekend Willow!

Another excellent week in Elder class!👏In PE, we continued our team building skills focusing on communication to work effectively to complete various challenges. There were lots of smiling faces during this lesson!😃 In Art, we have continued our work inspired by Hundertwasser- this week looking at layering using acetate.🎨In Literacy, we started our new writing unit using ‘The Mysteries of Harris Burdick’ and the children have been loving exploring the different images and discussing what could have led up to it.🕵️Well done for all your hard work this week Elder, see you all on Monday! 🤩

It has been another lovely week in Snowdrop! We have written our autobiography introductions, investigated contact forces and non-contact forces, drawn close-up pictures inspired by a story and our imaginations and are becoming increasingly more confident within our tracking and accuracy skills in PE! Another great week in the Primrose class. We have been learning how we can use tone to make our objects look 3D. We investigated contact and non-contact forces in Science and we looked at how mountains and rivers can play a part in determining where human features maybe located. Have a fabulous weekend!

Another great week in Poppy Class! We began writing our autobiographies and shared them with our class! In Science this week, we created an investigation looking at magnetic and non magnetic objects around our classroom. This afternoon, we had outdoor P.E in the sunshine and practised ball skills such as throwing and dribbling.

⭐Wow! What a great couple of week back in Bluebell Class!⭐ This week we have been learning all about ourselves, about our bodies and what makes us unique. We have read 'The Same but Different Too' which lead us to compare out facial features with our peers and talk about what makes us the same and different. Our task this week was to draw a self portrait, which we have added to a wall to make a gallery. In phonics we have been listening to environmental sounds and copying beats with musical instruments. In maths we have been looking at counting and singing counting songs. Next week we are looking at our families, and different types of families. Honeysuckle had a busy first full week! In Literacy we enjoyed reading the story The Little Red Hen and writing in our books for the first time. In Maths we were counting on and back. We loved teambuilding in PE and our jumping circuit! In science we discussed properties of some materials and in computing we explored the program paintz and tried the different tools to create our own pictures. Well done everyone for settling in so well.

What a fabulous first full week in Snowdrop. In Literacy, we have looked at autobiographies and the features that they include, I found out some more interesting facts about the children! We started our first ukulele lesson, Mr Murphy was very impressed with us! We have investigated friction, labelled where different countries are within North and South America and used tone within Art. Have a wonderful weekend.

What a wonderful first week back in Willow class! ⭐The children have blown me away with their resilience, positivity and attitude to learning. In reading we have been exploring our new book ‘Goodnight Mister Tom’, we’ve been team building in OAA participating in various challenges; working on our communication and problem-solving skills. These skills helped us during our Handball session in PE too. In Art we have been immersing ourselves in the work of Hundertwasser, creating artwork using colour, shapes and line. 🌹What an incredible first full week back we've had! We are so proud of everyone in Rose for how they have settled in and got stuck into their learning! In Maths we've been representing numbers and counting backwards and forwards to 20. In Literacy we've read the traditional tale of The Little Red Hen ready to retell it next week! In PE, we did some team building and practised jumping with balance and stability. We explore the paintz app in Computing and created our own self portraits. ⭐What a fantastic first full week in Reception!⭐ This week, we enjoyed reading the story 'Our Class is a Family', which helped us learn about friendship, kindness and how we can all work together to make our classroom a safe and happy place. In maths, the children have been developing their counting skills, recognising numerals and counting confidently up to 20. We are incredibly proud of how well the children have settled into school life. They are already forming friendships, learning routines and showing great enthusiasm every day! 🌟 Mr Cook, Miss Allen and the rest of the Reception Team!

🌟SPEEDWELL🌟 What a wonderful first full week back our Speedwellians have had. We have immersed ourselves into our narrative of the Little Red Hen in Literacy, explored and learned about numbers within 10 and 20 in Maths, begun to consider the properties of different materials in Science and explored our senses in R&WV. We worked well in pairs and teams in PE and chilled out with a bit of Yoga too! Please remember our indoor PE session is Monday and outdoor PE is Tuesday. Have a wonderful weekend.

We’ve had the most incredible first week back in Elder class! 👏The children have returned to school with a positive attitude and I’ve been so impressed with how the Year 5’s have settled into their new class. In Reading, we’ve been exploring our new book ‘The Final Year’, we’ve been team building in OAA participating in various challenges to build our communication and problem solving skills, and we’ve been immersing in the work of Hundertwasser in Art. Well done for being superstars this week, I’m very excited for the year ahead! 🤩

⏰Attendance⏰ Please see attendance for the first two days back after the holidays ! Thank you so much for your support in the children with back to school we know this is not easy for some pupils. An enormous well done to Willow who have kicked off the year with a full house - they will get squash and biscuits in class next week !

🌟ACTIVES🌟 Look at these faces! All super proud to have received the first Active Awards of the year - well done everyone. We enjoyed holding our first celebration assembly, celebrating the learning going on in classes already. This year we are continuing to celebrate successes across all subjects, role model behaviours and those who help and care for those around them, yet we are doing so through three certificates instead of six. Our certificates for the year will be our Active Learners, Active Leaders and Active Citizens. ✨❤️ Well done everyone on having such a successful return to Grove after the summer holidays - have a lovely weekend!

What a fantastic first week back in the Primrose class. We have been really busy starting our new topics and loved our first ukulele lesson. The children have been learning about autobiographies in English and have been thinking about important events in their life. In Science we have started our topic on forces and we enjoyed carrying out an experiment to see which materials were best to make a car ramp out of. Finally, in Geography, we used an atlas to identify countries in North and South America.

Poppy Class had their first ukulele lesson this week, I was super proud of their listening skills and how quickly they picked it up! In literacy, we have begun our first topic of autobiographies and the children discussed important events that have happened in their lives. In Geography, our first topic is North and South America, we successfully sorted different countries into their correct continents. Well done Poppy Class!

Latitude, MauiWaui, First Light, Weird & Wonderful Wood, Sotterley Fair, Gorleston Clifftop, Stradbroke Music Day, Harleston & Waveney, Music for Youth in Birmingham and others. Wow !!
